Abidal sustained a hamstring injury in Barcelona's 1-0 La Liga win over Sporting Gijon last weekend and consequently faces a spell on the sidelines.

Nevertheless, this has not stopped France from including the 32-year-old in the squad for their upcoming international fixtures, much to Pruna's concern.

"His injury is just an ordinary strain and he needs to rest for seven to 10 days. However, the French Federation considers it not to be serious and have decided that he will travel with the team," Pruna was quoted as saying by AS.

"He wouldn't have played for us if we'd had a game at the weekend, and I hope that France treat him well and don't play him either."

France currently sit top of the table in Group D of the Euro 2012 qualification campaign with 17 points from eight games.

Without Abidal, Ribery, Benzema, France in not big favourite against Albania and Bosnia

Good news for Portugal chairman:

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo sustains hip injury ahead of Portugal's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Iceland & Denmark
The attacker has picked up a knock prior the upcoming internationals, but is expected to be fit in time to feature on Friday

The 26-year-old stayed behind in the team hotel as the rest of the Portugal squad took to the training pitch for a practice session, but Jones is confident that Ronaldo will be fit in time for Friday's encounter.

"Cristiano has a minor problem with his right hip, but we have everything under control. We have decided to let him miss today's [Wednesday] training and he'll have an individual session tomorrow," the Portugal doctor said, according to Marca.

"There's no need to be worried though. He will definitely play on Friday."

Portugal currently sit level with Denmark in first place in Group H of the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Both teams have collected 13 points from six matches.

I'll tell u who they are...Barca are the ones paying Abidal...not his national team. They have every right to ask that France does not play him. The national team couldn't care less that Abidal's injury gets more pronounced and that he spends more time on the sideline for Barca.
