Chicago ML @1.90 and Chicago Over 2.5 @1.75 - Ray Emery, Chicago's goalie, achieved against the Flames .920 save percentage last year, and .960 this year. But, his career (5 games) record against them is 1.19 GAA with a .952 save percentage!!! So, total over 5.5 is questionable, regardless of their very offensive style this year. Miikka Kiprusoff in goal of the Flames had 3.03 GAA with a .899 Sv% in previous 29 games against the Blackhawks. Chicago with 4 straight wins versus Calgary with three defeats of the last four games - I think, everything is clear here.

Today only Vancouver - Ottawa 1, but I will think about -1.5 spread, only because of tradition. Luongo is injured, but Schneider is probably better solution at this time. If Craig Anderson is in the Senators goal, I will take over 5.5, too. He had excellent season 2010-2011, but this year within the same number of appearances (18, with a .939 Sv%) he has been much weaker, with a .895 Sv%. Over 1.5 goals in the first period is also a topic to thinking.

Regardless of the outstanding performance of goalie Pavelec against the Capitals six days ago, I will try with over 5.5 goals in the game Washington - Winnipeg. In two games in Washington last year Pavelec allowed only 2 goals on 62 shots, but today it will be open space in front of him, since five defenders of the Jets are out of the team because of injuries, and two of them are very important for the team. The Capitals also have problems in their defense and over 5.5 for @1.92 at Pinnacle is quite decent pick.

The first game which that I will take today is New Jersey at NY Islanders. Their games against each other were often with uncertain outcome in the past, and regardless of bad form of the Islanders it will be another such game. Because of injury goalie of the Islanders Evgeni Nabokov is out indefinitely and will not play today. I guess Al Montoya will be in the goal, because he had excellent home appearance last year against the Devils, when he allowed only two goals within 60, on 27 shots against, with a .931 Sv%. His weakness is a short NHL experience - only 31 matches, but with good total statistics - 2.35 GAA with a .923 Sv%. Also, his last appearance was a month ago because of injury. If Rick DiPietro is in goal it will be worse for his team because he has been weak in this season - 3.44 GAA with a .885 Sv%. He had shutout in the last year's home game against the Devils, but at the Devils he allowed 3 goals on 20 shots - 3.06 GAA with a .850 Sv%. Two of the last three games of the Islanders were without scored goal for them, while the Devils scored at least three goals in nine of the last ten games. I would no longer explain my reasons, just believe that New Jersey will emerge victorious from today's match, which is very well paid at Pinnacle - New Jersey @2.04.

Except of the pick on the portal, I have thought about the Penguins at the Canadiens Under 5.5 @1.68 Expekt. But, it is too low odd to take that risk. I like Penguins, but also I have sympathy for Montreal, because of a great atmosphere in their hall and there is a possibility that I do not see this match from the right angle. Marc-Andre Fleury against Carey Price, is it not under 5.5 goals? Four of their last five games against each other ended with under 5.5 goals, including the last one, a month ago, 3-1 Pittsburgh's home win. Crosby is on ice, but I still believe we will not see a lot of goals here.

The Canucks and the Predators had under 1.5 goals in the 2nd period in 10 of the last 11. It is very interesting and, I think, an unusual trend. However, even though I thought it will be my second bet tonight, I gave up because it is uncertain who will be in both goals. Pekka Rinne worries me and I think Lindbeck is a better solution for Predators in this game. Luongo has problem with injury and Schneider will likely go to the ice, but he has never played against the Predators. So, this time I will skip that, but these two teams are expecting two more games against each other this season.

I dwell on this game, mostly because of a temporary fit of both teams
Minnesota Wild @ Anaheim Ducks
pick: over 5.5 goals
odds: 2.16 @ betRedKings
Anaheim Ducks are in very poor fit at the moment they started well new season taking opening four games, but after that they record one of the biggest loosing strikes in their history failing in thirteen of last fourteen games. That bad loosing strike was stopped this week when Anaheim defeat Montreal Canadiens 4-1 at home recording second win in last fifteen games. However the Ducks already change the coach, now former Washington Capitals coach Bruce Bodreau lead the team he was released by the Capitals only few days before taking Anaheim. The Ducks recorded six over 5.5 in last seven games, most of them they played at home loosing against Flyers 3-4, Blackhawks 5-6, Kings 3-5, Red Wings 2-4, Maple Leafs 2-5, failed when visited Coyotes 4-2, and defeat Canaidens 4-1. The Ducks have no problem with injuries of main players all their power in offense Selanne, Koivu, Ryan, Perry, Getzlaf are fit. On the other hand Minnesota Wild is very strong team this season, they signed in the summer two of best Sharks offensive players Setoguchi and Heatley maybe that is the reason why they are so strong. The Wild recorded three over in last five games, loosing at home against Flames and Oiler with 2-5, but after that they won three in a row including 4-2 overrating New Jersey. Between, they already played twice this season both games was won by the visitor with the same score 2-3 one time Ducks one time Wild and I think the time for over 5.5 came.

Today the main issue is whether the Capitals can beat the Senators the third time this season. The previous two times they made narrow victories. Given the poor results lately, Senators have been a salve on the Capitals' wound.

I am not sure what to do with today's games. I agree with Saint10 that in the four games should be more than 23 goals, and his another proposal is over 5.5 goals in the game Edmonton - Colorado.

I like days with a lot of games

New Jersey - Montreal is a tough game to predict winner. I think, the home team is a slight favorite, but I would not put my money on that. I have seen an interesting bet at Ladbrokes, Home Team 3-4 Goals @2.5.
You have enough time to think a little more about this afternoon game, especially about others that will be played tonight. There are some interesting games, and among them are two Canadian clashes.

Where did Saint10 say that? Also, I like over 23 goals.
