Romanian first-league member Politehnika from Timişoara could be shut down these days. By order of FIFA football union of Romania fined football club Politehnika which plays under name FC Timisoar with 6 points of deduction. It was also told to this club to in 10 days they have to change club colors because otherwise they could be suspeneded from further competing in Romanian first league. Such events happened after Claudio Zambron, former owner of this club, started court procedure. In time when he was owner of the club he wanted to move to Bucharest to which fans and local authority opposed. Then he bought a smaller club from around the capital of Romania and kept the name Politehnika and purple-colored dresses. Politehnika from Timişoara then had to change name into FC Timisoar but they still kept the purple dresses. Now because of that they are fined and they got order to change club’s colors. President of this club, Marian Iancu expressed bitterness because of such decision of FIFA and also because of weak engagement of national union of Romania on protection of rights of their club. He said that this no longer has any sense and that the club can no longer exist and that he doesn’t want to invest money in football anymore:



- We won’t play a single match because we don’t want to change club’s colors so it is only left to management of the union to expel us from competition.



In that case this club would get also out of competition in UEFA Cup which would mean that Partizan from Belgrade could directly place in League of UEFA Cup.
